part deux...
oh ya, i met the other malaysian in nanzan last friday! his name is chiew, doing his MBA in nanzan starting this year! He's a recipient of the monbunkagakusho scholarship! this guy's from petaling jaya, near 1 utama yay! but moved to mentakab pahang a few years back! did his bachelor's degree in UUM, sintok kedah! he actually knew where taman melawati is and... hahahah! another malaysian in campus! we're gonna work together for the uni's festival, promoting malaysia to the world, ceh... he brought his baju melayu along too! hahah! was thinking of inviting kimie-san (from chubu uni) to join us!
did a short speech today, bout my place of birth, kuala lumpur, in class! to be exact, i was born in university malaya's medical centre (hospital universiti) and that is in petaling lah! that was 22years and a few months ago... hey, petronas twin towers are not that famous after all! ceh, kononnya... most of the american students are from smaller towns like new jersey, north carolina, arizona... some from chicago, oklahoma... their cities' population is really kind of "little"... tsumaranai... was fun, listening to others as they talk bout their homes... reminds me of mind too! aww...
yay, the trip to toyota motors plant is on! 13th oct, wednesday, right after our classes... oh ya, havent blog bout my english lesson the other wednesday! only one turned up that day! travelled for an hour to reach that place! oh ya, his name is takeharu homma, 38 married with 2 boys, been working for kojima press industrial corp for 13yrs, under the plant management department! we did "self-introduction" that day! kacang huh? heheh! he's preparing to sit for an oral test lah, so he requested that i go through the whole thing with him! his english is okay eh! he even commented that i speak "standard" english coz my friends who went before me, a thai and an indonesian, he told me that they have thai and indon accent when they speak and it is really diffucult for him to understand what they say... hahahah! self praise... i was warned before coming to japan bout japanese guys... pastor kim even said to me, "stay away from them"... ahahahah! there are nice and kind people too lah... he's so so polite and courteous... offered to open the car door for me, oh ya, he sent me to the station after the lesson... god is indeed good to me, through people around me, whom i rub shoulders with each day, friends in a foreign country, family in church...
talk bout church, i decided to stay on with nica... the baptist church my friend shiru from indonesia goes to, the service in conducted in japanese and we have to put on a headphone to listen to the english interpretation lah... this is known as simultaneous interpreting... hahaaha! wonder how my friends back in penang are doing right now... exams period... maybe i'll visit lah... hey comm'on, szehwei, you should be thankful that you're able to attend church service even in japan, a country where shintoism and buddhism have such strong influence, dating back to the very early centuries... even the formation of the nation of japan... legends and myths... such prevalent influence in every aspects of their life... sports, food, language, culture etc...
